Coatings Division

The background and expertise of our Coatings Division is in the research, testing, and development of bioactive coatings for medical devices.  Antimicrobial–coated implants may offer a means of protecting the surface of a medical device from contamination by pathogenic organisms, thereby minimizing the potential for infection. Other types of coatings can serve as a reservoir for the local delivery of active agents, enhancing a variety of biological functions such as bone growth and pain management.  Bacterin’s coating technologies can be tailored for delivery of specific bioactive agents as well as for various materials.
